After the release of Dishonored: Death of the Outsider in 2017, a new tabletop RPG game set in the Dishonored world is releasing this summer.
In a report from Polygon, a new tabletop game based on the Dishonored franchise has been announced.
The tabletop game comes from London-based Modiphius, which developed tabletop games based off the Star Trek, Conan, and Elder Scrolls franchises. The game is a 300 page hardcover and it comes with custom 20-sided dice. It lets players choose between premade characters or players can create their own.
“I’ve been a fan of the Dishonored series since its first trailer gave us a sneak preview of the dark side of the world,” says Chris Burch, Co-Founder of Modiphius. “The cool mis of odd technologies, whalepunk worlds and stories of [supernatural presence] the Outsider seemed a great platform for a tabletop RPG.”
In typical Dishonored fashion, the game lets players take a stealthy approach to each mission. If you want to mix things up, you can play as a courier, dualist, inventor, or explorer. Additionally, fan-favorites such as Corvo and Emily are playable characters.
“We designed the game to be really accessible so video game fans who don’t usually play tabletop games will have an easy time of creating their own character, learning the game, and playing through their adventures,” says Burch.
The Dishonored series began in 2012 with the first game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda. From there, Bethesda released Dishonored 2 in 2016 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider in 2017. Following the release of Death of the Outsider, Arkane announced the series will be taking a break.
The Dishonored tabletop game will release sometime this summer for $39.99. While we wait for it to come out, you can play the Dishonored games on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out a trailer for Dishonored: Death of the Outsider below, which is the latest game in the series.
