Cyberpunk 2077 Lead Quest Designer Describes the Game’s Story as a “Movie-Like Story for Adults”

In a new interview, Cyberpunk 2077 lead quest designer Pawel Sasko discusses the game’s story.

In a new interview with Polskie Radio and a translation provided by Reddit user TheNeonArcade, CD Projekt Red’s Pawel Sasko discusses Cyberpunk 2077‘s story.

“Their [CD Projekt Red’s] goal is to tell a movie-like story for an adult audience, touching subjects that we face in out times,” says the translation. “He [Sasko] specifies that their games are not toys and are not for children. He says in today’s culture, we try to avoid difficult subjects but they will not shy away from these. In fact, he says the game is loaded with them – they want people to think for themselves and it will be up to us to decide what our mortality is. He then continues by saying the game will allow you to look at things from different perspectives so knowing them it will rarely be a black and white situation we find ourselves in,” the translation continues. “The goal is to keep the player on the edge of their seat by telling a breathtaking story.”

Additionally, the translation mentions the game’s main character V is looking to find a better life for him/herself and break away from Night City’s shackles. From there, Keanu Reeves’ character Johhny is important to V’s quest of finding an immortality chip. With Gamescom coming up, fans attending the convention can check Cyberpunk 2077 out and see it for themselves.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16, 2020, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is available to preorder on Amazon now. Gamescom 2019 lasts from August 20-24.
