Darksiders Genesis Gets A Collector’s Edition That Includes…A Board Game?

If you can’t live without Darksiders, this Collector’s Edition is going to cost you greatly.

The official Darksiders Twitter page has announced two new editions for Darksiders Genesis. The Nephilim Edition includes the game, an art book, a steelbook case, a soundtrack, stickers, a statue of the horseman Strife, and a board game. The statue is said to be 22.5 by 9 inches. Strife rounds out as the final horseman to now be playable in the Darksiders series.

The board game is called Darksiders: The Forbidden Land. There are no current details as to what the board game specifically is or how it plays. From the looks of it, it seems to be a strategic-based game seeing that it has a grid on the board. The Nephilim Edition will cost a whopping $379.99 and only 5,000 units will be available. There is no clarification as of right now regarding that being 5,000 units total or per platform.

There is also a lower-tiered Collector’s Edition that comes with everything in the Nephilim Edition except for the board game. The cost for the Collector’s Edition is $119.99. That means that publisher THQ Nordic is seemingly valuing the board game at $250.00. Even so, the Nephilim Edition costs more than most Collector’s Editions.

Darksiders Genesis will release sometime later this year. It will not be a traditional game in the series like the most recent entry Darksiders III. The game plays in a top-down perspective and takes place before the events of the other games in the series. We got to preview the game at E3 this year and we found it to be something that longtime fans should be excited for.

You can currently pre-order any edition of Darksiders Genesis on Amazon.
