The 1.0 patch for Dauntless will coincide with the game’s next season, which is called Aether Unbound.
After launching in Early Access earlier this year on PS4, Xbox One, and previously PC, Phoenix Labs has today announced that Dauntless will be launching into its 1.0 phase later this month.
September 26 will see Dauntless exiting Early Access across all three of the game’s current platforms. Dauntless originally launched in an alpha phase back in 2017 on PC, so this trip to the 1.0 phase has taken a bit of time, but the game has changed and grown drastically over that span. “As we look back on the last 5 years, we reflect on just how amazing the journey with you has been,” Phoenix Labs CEO Jesse Houston said in a statement today. “On behalf of everyone at Phoenix Labs, thank you for joining us on this adventure.”
Alongside launching into 1.0, Dauntless will also be receiving an enormous new update this month that is the biggest the game has seen since heading into Early Access. This new update is headlined by the start of the next season in Dauntless which is called Aether Unbound. This season will bring with it a new weapon to utilize, a new behemoth to hunt down, and a new Hunt Pass. A bounty system and additional features will also be coming with the season as well.
While Aether Unbound is the next big step for Dauntless, it’s by no means the last one. Pheonix Labs has also confirmed that it has further plans for the game’s next season and additional features which are planned to arrive before the end of 2019.
