Hero will be arriving in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at some point today.
As promised, Nintendo today released a new video featuring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate designer Masahiro Sakurai talking about the game’s latest DLC fighter Hero from the Dragon Quest series. In the video, it was finally confirmed just when Hero will be arriving in-game and it might be sooner than you’d think initially.
Hero will be landing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on July 30, which is today. You will be able to download Hero for free if you’ve already purchased the game’s Fighters Pass for $24.99. Otherwise, you can add him to your own roster for the cost of $5.99. Considering updates for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate typically don’t go live until later in the day for those of us in North America, I’d personally expect Hero to be added sometime later tonight.
Other than just revealing the long-awaited launch date for Hero though, Sakurai goes over a variety of other details in this new video. Much of the video is focused on showing off Hero specifically and the character’s move set that he boasts. We’ve seen some of these moves in the past already, but Sakurai breaks it all down in much more detail.
In addition, to just Hero though, a variety of other new additions coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate were also unveiled. Most notable of these new arrivals includes new Mii Fighter costumes, a new Online Tournament mode, and a Spectate mode.
All of the new information on Hero and the other upcoming additions to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate can be found below. The video is about 22 minutes in length, so you might want to free up some time for yourself if you’re looking to watch the full video.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now on Switch.
