Prepare to get an extensive new look at Gears 5 on August 19.
With Gamescom slated to kick off in just about 10 days, it seems like Microsoft and The Coalition are gearing up to show a whole lot more of Gears 5.
Announced this morning via Geoff Keighley, Gears 5 will be debuting new footage from the game’s Horde Mode during Microsoft’s Inside Xbox presentation which is set to take place on August 19, a day before Gamescom kicks off. The Coalition previously announced that this would be in the cards earlier this summer at E3, so its confirmation here isn’t a surprise.
However, it seems as though we’ll be getting a double-dip of new Gears 5 footage on this day. Keighley also said that following Inside Xbox on his own Opening Night Live stream, The Coalition will be revealing a new look at the campaign of Gears 5. Even though we’re so close to launch, we really haven’t seen much of what the campaign of Gears 5 will offer. Fans have been asking for quite some time to see more of the single-player aspect of Gears 5 and it seems as though that’s finally what they’ll be getting.
I’m still incredibly excited for Gears 5 and I’m hoping that what The Coalition will show here at Gamescom will look impressive. It feels like there’s still so much of this game that we have left to see. Let’s hope that this final appearance of the game before release at Gamescom will generate enough excitement and buzz.
Gears 5 is slated to drop on September 10 for Xbox One and PC. We’ll keep you posted on all things Gamescom leading up and going through the show.
