Gestures – Tap them down is an arcade title from solo developer Vaclav Krivanek, also known as Event Horizons. This visually striking game is available now for both iOS and Android as a free-to-play title.
Despite the use of the word tap in the title, Gestures is not actually an idle game. Instead, it’s intended to be a test of your manual dexterity and timing, requiring you to defeat a plethora of enemies and by that, I mean little circles that represent ask different things of you.
The difficulty comes in learning how to defeat these various foes and then doing it in time. Some will simply take a quick tap to vanquish whilst others might require multiple taps. Beyond even that, some will require the use of two fingers or require you told to hold down on them for a set time.
This doesn’t sound all that difficult until you realise that these icons will be flashing up exceedingly quickly on the screen. On top of that, there will also be different variants of the circular enemies that will immediately take one of your lives if you mistakenly tap them. It’s like a tap-centric, heavy metal version of Bop It.
To help you out along they there are also a number of perks that you can unlock to aid in beating the game’s more trickier levels. There will also be 31 different achievements to unlock throughout Gestures too, so there’s plenty to work towards as you frantically tap away.
There are 100 levels to tap your way through alongside a Hardcore mode for those masochistic folks who yearn for even more difficulty. If you’re a fan of endless modes there’s also an Infinity level available where you can battle it out for leaderboard supremacy.
