Codemasters’ new GRID game has been delayed by one month—its new release date is in October.
Codemasters community manager Chris Groves has just confirmed that the new GRID racing game is being pushed back to an October release. It was originally slated for September 13, so the new release date of October 11 isn’t much longer of a wait.
Groves attributes the delay to seeking extra exposure for the game. GRID looked great at E3 this year, so much so that it won best racing game here at the DualShockers E3 2019 awards.
GRID is primed for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Buyers of the Ultimate Edtion will still get access to the game three days early, they’ll just be able to play it on October 8 instead of September 10. Groves stated that additional information will be coming sometime in the next few days. When it does, we’ll have it here for you at DualShockers.
The TOCA series hasn’t seen much action since GRID Autosport came out in 2014. It’s scheduled for a re-release on the Nintendo Switch this summer, making it the first full racing simulator on the console. For those of you with a racing sim sized hole in your hearts, these next entries should be the perfect way to fill it.
GRID was announced back in May 2019. Those interested in pre-ordering it can do so on Amazon.
