Of Course Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is Partnering with Mountain Dew and Doritos

Geoff Keighley will be elated to know that Call of Duty; Modern Warfare, Mountain Dew, and Doritos are partnering this year.

Are you a high IQ, elite gamer who enjoys playing Call of Duty while drinking Mountain Dew and eating Doritos? If so, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Mountain Dew, and Doritos have the cross-promotion for you. Activision and PepsiCo are partnering to promote the latest entry in the popular FPS series, but this year the promotion is, and I quote, “groundbreaking.”

How so? Well, Mountain Dew, Mountain Dew Amp Game Fuel, and Doritos packaging will feature codes that can be used to get in-game rewards. All three PepsiCo products will give players Double XP through December 31. Some Amp Game Fuel products will even have codes for an exclusive operator skin, which is a great way to let people know how much of a gamer you are. Why have microtransactions when you can have Mountain Dew transactions? Why pay to win when you can pay to drink Mountain Dew and eat Doritos? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is already GOTY thanks to this promotion alone.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 25, but this super groundbreaking, amazing, never-to-be topped, gamer-fueled promotion will begin appearing on PepsiCo products on October 6. If you prefer your food and gaming cross-promotions to be dating sims, KFC has something right up your alley.
