Atlus published new screenshots and artwork for Persona 5 Royal on the game’s official Japanese site. The screenshots show Morgana, Makoto, Futaba, Haru, and their respective new personas Diego, Agnes, Al-Azif and Lucy. The screenshots also show Akechi and the new character José.
These screenshots are technically not brand new but are direct-feed versions of the screenshots shown a few days ago in Famitsu. The screenshots also include scenes from the new January to April playable part and its new Palace. We’ve covered all the new info revealed with these screenshots in a previous article.
Along with the artworks, official profiles for each of these characters were published as well. These profiles are geared towards those who never played the original Persona 5, so we don’t learn anything new in particular through them, so I won’t be translating them. Here’s the profile for new character José though:
José is a mysterious boy the Phantom Thieves meet in Mementos. He claims to be studying humans by gathering flowers found in Mementos, and asks the Phantom Thieves for help. His objective and true nature are unknown. It’s unclear if he’ll end up being an ally or an enemy.
All the screenshots and artwork are included below. Atlus also recently revealed that we’ll have more time for night activities in Persona 5 Royal. You can also watch the newest trailer here and our summary of the latest Persona 5 Royal stream, which explained José and the new Mementos mechanics.
PS4 Exclusive Persona 5 Royal launches on October 31 in Japan and sometime in 2020 in the west. Sega hasn’t published more details regarding that yet. Hopefully, it’ll be an early 2020 release and the western version won’t take too much time to get localized.
