Alex Karpazis, the Presentation DIrector for Ubisoft’s popular shooter discusses the potential Rainbow Six Siege next-gen plans.
If there is one thing that is certain about Rainbow Six Siege, it is that it is here for the long haul. However, the current generation of consoles is on their way out, making room for new consoles from Sony and Microsoft. With this happening as soon as next year, what are the Rainbow Six Siege next-gen plans?
When speaking to Rainbow Six Siege Presentation Director Alex Kirpazis about the game’s potential release on next-gen consoles at launch, it is obvious that there is a plan in place to continue the game’s longevity. However, there is nothing Ubisoft can officially announce just yet.
“So. we are here to stay for a long while, and absolutely, we want to bring the game to as many people as possible,” says Kirpazis. “But we don’t have anything right now that we are able to announce.”
In June, Rainbow Six Siege Brand Director Alexandre Remy confirmed the potential for the game to come to next-gen platforms. He also discussed migrating the game from current-gen consoles to next-gen, as well as shot down any hopes for a sequel.
While the Rainbow Six Siege next-gen plans are not entirely concrete, details for its newest update, Operation: Ember Rise, have been revealed. Like the many Operations before it, the Year 4 Season 3 update brings two new Operators, the Kanal map rework, and a new ranked system that will really shake things up for Rainbow Six Siege players. You can check out our preview of the new Operators (Amaru and Goyo) and the Kanal rework to see what we think.
In other important Rainbow Six Siege news, Karpazis also answered the toughest question of them all: If Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot were a playable Operator, what would be his ability?
Rainbow Six Siege is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One right now.
