If you build it, they will come.
If you have ever thought “Man, I wish LEGO would bring out The Last of Us collection” then, I’m sorry you will have to keep dreaming – at least for now. But we do have the next best thing to holding Joel and Ellie in the palm of your hand and that’s looking at them with your eyes in this pretty amazing artwork by Adam Middleton over on ArtStation.
Adam was inspired to create their very own little blocky Ellie and Joel LEGO figures after watching The Last of Us Part II trailer that was shown at State of Play last week. The process was created by Adam painting and then slowly generating the textures needed to recreate the minifigures and then lastly, finishing the project by sculpting additional elements before bringing it all together in Modo (a 3D modeling software program)
This would be a highlight to any Last of Us fan to be able to own an Ellie and Joel LEGO set – we just need the team at LEGO now to pick up on it. A great addition would be to also add some infected, guard dogs, and a few run-down buildings. If you happen to be a LEGO enthusiast, check out this Metal Gear Solid 4 diorama inspired by the opening of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
On the other hand, if you prefer some wildfowl mixed in with your favorite The Last of Us characters, check out the mashup between Untitled Goose Game and The Last of Us Part II.
The Last of Us Part II is set to drop on Feb. 21, 2020. Those interesting in pre-ordering it can do so on Amazon now.
