Level-5 revealed some good news during their Anime Expo 2019 panel — Yo-Kai Watch 4 will be getting an official western release for Switch.
Yo-Kai Watch 4 has had a bumpy road since it was first announced, to the point that fans wondered whether we’d even see the latest entry in the franchise come to the West. However, those fears have been seemingly put to rest during the Level-5 Anime Expo 2019 panel. According to Twitter user HDKirin from RPG Site, the title has been revealed to be getting a western localization and will be coming out for Nintendo Switch:
Yokai Watch 4 western localization announced at the Level-5 AX 2019 panel. No photos or videos allowed at panel. Coming to Switch; no release date announced.

Unfortunately there’s no other information available at this time, due to Level-5’s strict no videos or photos at the panel policy. So we’ll just have to wait for any official announcements and assets from the company themselves. Meanwhile, check out the most recent Yo-Kai Watch 4 gameplay video and trailer.
There’s also sure to be news concerning their other IPs to be revealed during AX 2019, thanks to the status update they posted on Twitter a couple weeks ago from their official Professor Layton account. This marks the company’s first time attending the massive anime convention.
Recently both Yo-kai Watch 4 and Inazuma Eleven Ares were delayed in Japan several times due to ongoing quality issues, with the former set for a June 20th release. The latter does not have an official release date at this time, but Level-5 President Akihiro Hino did explain why the title has been so extensively delayed in the first place.
Anime Expo is an American anime convention held in Los Angeles, California and organized by the non-profit Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation. The convention features many events and activities during the convention for attendees to take part in such as guest panels, table top gaming, competitions, an arcade, and concerts.
