The PS4 remaster of Ys: Memories of Celceta will be coming out in the west sometime during Spring 2020.
Ys: Memories of Celceta was originally a PS Vita exclusive, but it has now been ported a couple of times. In 2018, the JRPG came to PC. This year, a PS4 remaster titled Ys: Memories of Celceta: Kai was announced and released in Japan. Today, XSEED confirmed that they are bringing the Falcom game westward in Spring 2020 and unveiled a cool limited physical edition for it.
The game will be dropping the Kai subtitle in North America and Europe, so we can simply still refer to it as Ys: Memories of Celceta. For those unfamiliar with this remaster’s features, it upgraded the game to run at 60fps in HD and reworked the controls to account for the lack of a touchscreen on the PS4. In addition to that, the western version of Ys: Memories of Celceta for PS4 will include dual audio, so players can switch between the Japanese and English voices at any time. XSEED has confirmed that this feature will be coming to the PC port too via a free update. These features are all highlighted in the following reveal trailer:
If you are already deadset on picking this remaster up, XSEED has an interesting special edition for you. Ys: Memories of Celceta – Timeless Adventurer Edition continues XSEED’s trend of putting out physical editions with interesting extra bonuses. Outside of the base game, the Timeless Adventurer Edition will come with a Ys 25th anniversary soundtrack and a dozen art cards based on characters from the game. Ys: Memories of Celceta – Timeless Adventurer Edition will only cost $39.99, with the digital release being slightly cheaper at $29.99.
